Designing against the biases that keep people broke. Designing the nudges that helped Australians save more.

Sydney, Australia · 2015–2020 | $152 million AUD. 8 million accounts. 4.2% average increase in savings balances. Those are the numbers — here's what was behind them. I led the product strategy and design of CommBank's Financial Wellbeing initiative: an ML-driven suite of tools inside the CommBank app that adapted to individual financial behavior to make saving feel achievable rather than aspirational. Spend Tracker, Cash Flow View, Goal Tracker and Money Plan weren't just features — they were behavioral interventions, each one targeting a specific cognitive bias that stands between people and their financial goals. Led by a cross-functional team of 40+ engineers, designers, behavioral scientists and data scientists. Validated by Forrester, Canstar and the DBM Australian Financial Awards — six consecutive years running.
